The author, Marietta McCarty has her own website with further information on the book and sharing philosophy with kids generally.
I picked up this book at a recent clearance sale, after just a brief skim of the blurb. I'm so glad I did! The author is a teacher and educational consultant, and holds Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Philosophy. She runs a travelling programme in the USA, introducing philosophy to children. The book is suitable to be read aloud, and, unusually the chapters are organised by topic rather than by theory, making it easy to find a relevant area. The book includes sample
discussion questions, teaching tips and group exercises. A thought-provoking and fascinating read.

Engagingly written for children of around 9 years and up. Uses cartoons and characters to convey difficult concepts in a comprehensible manner. Will also be of interest to adults interested in an introduction to philosophy, and would be ideal to read along with your children.
